Like you I never really expect Christmas to happen. Right up until almost the last minute I deeply believe that something might happen to prevent it. So of course I don’t buy a lot of stuff for people early. What would be the point if it were then to be cancelled or postponed? And replaced with a winter festival that inexplicably didn’t have gift-giving at its very core.
But it seems, yet again, that it is going ahead. All the signs are that next week Christmas will happen. On Wednesday I believe. And you all need to get shopping. For things. And stuff.
And guess what. We have Things and Stuff here in Felixstowe! 142 Hamilton Road 11.00am-6.00pm Tuesday to Saturday (and 11.00 to 3.00 on Sunday too…..). Also next Monday just in case. We are even available for a while next Tuesday for the truly dedicated “will it happen – won’t it happen” brigade.
And we have more stock (gulp) than you can possibly believe ready to ship over to Felixstowe at a moment’s notice.
Week six of Jason’s Christmas spectacular.
We have beer!
Look at this beauty. Gulden Draak Bremaster’s Reserve aged in whiskey barrels. 75cl bottles which we can package up in a variety of ways. We tasted this in Ghent last month and were very impressed. Unfortunately not cheap (£12.50 per bottle) but it was never going to be was it….?
A nicely put together 6-bottle pack of Van Steenberge beers including Piraat, Gulden Draak and Bornem at just £19.50 for the man who has everything including a thirst.
Olive oil with provenance.
Finally arrived from our friends at the oldest vineyard in Madrid, Bodegas Orusco, some Extra Virgin Olive Oil pressed from the fruit of their own trees. No fancy packaging or marketing, just the oil they use in their kitchen. £8.00 for half a litre seems fair to me. A gift for someone who understands cooking perhaps.
And now for someone a bit younger (but still over 18 obviously)
A craft-produced Russian vodka nicely packaged with either a funny Russian hat thrown in or some ice shot glasses that you have to make……from ice.
Come down to the wine-boutique and have a look. If you need assistance with packaging, I suggest getting down early this week rather than late.
Oh. And don’t forget Thursday evening at 6.00 is the Christmas tasting – we have some excellent stuff lined up for one-day-only deals.
